Overview
The island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands at 727.2 square miles (1883.5 km2) and is the 17th largest island in the United States. Maui is part of the state of Hawaii and is the largest island in Maui County. Three other islands, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Molokai, also belong to Maui County. Together, the four islands are known as Maui Nui. In 2000, Maui had a population of 117,644, the third-largest of the Hawaiian islands, behind that of Oahu and Hawaii. Kahului is the largest town on the island with a population of 20,146. Wailuku is the seat of Maui County.

Restaurants - The fancy hotels have ok restaurant, but there are better choices. Mamma's Fish House, Roy's, etc.


Free Snorkeling - There are lots of spots where you can snorkel right off the beach so you don't need to book a snorkeling tour to see many fish, sea turtles, and more!


Mamma's Fish House - This has to be one of the best restaurants anywhere! Great presentation, on the beach, and excellent taste.


Shopping - Check out the artsy town of Paia. Lot's of local galleries and gift shops in a cute lazy town.
