Taxis - When you decide to use a taxi (either at the airport or during your stay in Rome), please make sure that you use only the offically licenced cabs carrying the SPQR sign (see photo above).
Also watch out that the driver starts the meter after you entered the cab. This avoids long and tedious (and useless) discussions with the driver at the destination.
Hop-on Hop-off buses - Public transport is our preferred method of getting around in Rome, and we recommend it to you as well. A three day travel pass ("Biglietto Turistico Integrato 3 giorni") costs 11 Euro per person and allows you to use any public transport within the city during this time. They also have one-day travel passes and short-term tickets (valid for 75 minutes).
The Number for Tourist & Cultural Info - 06 06 08 is the phone and internet (www.060608.it)information centre of the municipality of Rome created for tourism and culture in the city of Rome.
